Anna Szepes

Anna Szepes is a theatre maker and facilitator developing community based participatory projects. Graduating as a Drama Instructor from the University of Theatre and Film Arts Budapest, she worked on theatre education projects in rural Hungary, on documentary- and forum theatre performances with the Cross Border Project in Madrid and studied Applied Theatre at the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg.

Her work focuses on social- and political issues through long term collaborations with marginalized groups and experts. Anna is intrigued by the theatricality of public spaces, reversed hierarchies, somatic interactions and gentle methods of practicing resistance. Currently she works as a founding member of DePart Collective (artivism), as the co-leader of the participatory theatre department of Trafó House and is part of the movement research with the Hungarian Icodaco collective. https://www.depart.community/
