Ana Subeliani
Ana Subeliani is an interdisciplinary performance artist and singer whose practice unfolds at the intersection of contemporary dance, voice, ritual, and political experience. She approaches dance not only as a formal discipline, but as a space of resistance, collective presence, and embodied memory, where movement and sound operate as inseparable forces.
After more than fifteen years of active work in human rights and democracy movments, Subeliani is now fully dedicating her practice to artistic expression. Using the body and voice as primary tools, her work processes protest, pain, desire, vulnerability, and transformation, often emerging in liminal spaces between art, activism, and community gathering. In 2020, she was selected as one of twelve researchers worldwide for an international research program at the University of the Underground (Amsterdam) focused on dance as a tool of resistance.
